Westcon Yards’ newbuild, the fishing boat «Gunnar Langva» is now delivered to the Ålesund-based shipowner Gunnar Langva AS. The yard could therefore mark their 35th completed newbuild.

Since June 2019 the pelagic fishing boat has been docked at Westcon for installment of equipment. The boat was delivered on November 19 in accordance with the schedule, and the almost 75-meter-long boat could set out on its first trip.

The boat will replace the existing «Gunnar Langva», which in 2003 was delivered through a similar cooperation where Rolls-Royce (now Kongsberg) designed the boat and Westcon Yards undertook the construction. The 75-meter-long purse seiner will be the next generation fishing vessel for Gunnar Langva AS.

The design of the new «Gunnar Langva» will be of the type Rolls-Royce NVC 353, and the equipment package includes a Bergen B33:45 diesel motor, together with Promas integrated rotary and propeller. Rolls Royce have also delivered hydraulic winches.

The new «Gunnar Langva» will have an RSW capacity of 2250 cubic and will include 13 single room cabins. They will mainly fish in the North Sea and the Northern Atlantic sea. The catch is herring, mackerel, capelin and hake. The companies do not want to state the value of the agreement.
