Kongsberg Naval Services AS (KONGSBERG), has been awarded a strategic framework agreement with the Norwegian Defence Materiel Agency for operational support, maintenance and life extension services on Norway’s Nansen-class frigates. The contract has a total value of up to 17 billion kroner for services delivered throughout the lifetime - assumed until 2040.
KONGSBERG is chosen as the main supplier with overall responsibility for implementing management and ship technical maintenance, modifications, and possible life extension of the Nansen-class frigates.
KONGSBERG will coordinate and contract activities with the partners through integrated and long-term cooperation with the Armed Forces. The company has formed a constellation consisting of the shipyards Westcon Yards and Coast Center Base (CCB), as well as WilNor Governmental Services (WGS) and Wilhelmsen Ship Management (WSM). KONGSBERG also has a cooperation agreement with Navantia that ensures support services from the shipyard that built the ships.
