On 14 December, Westcon Helgeland opened its new and long-awaited dry dock in Langsetvågen
The dock has an internal length of 12 metres, an entry depth of 9 meters, and an entry length of 27 metres.
According to the general manager of Westcon Helgeland, Arnt Skogsøy, Dock 2 was absolutely necessary as the capacity of the old dock was exceeded.
Skogsøy tells the newspaper Ranablad that they will now be able to remove the tops and be prepared for unforeseen events.
- It can give up to 40 new jobs. This means a lot for the local community, says Skogsøy to the newspaper.
This is confirmed by the mayor of Nesna municipality, Hanne Davidsen, to Ranablad. She says it is a pleasure to see that Dokk 2 is ready for use and is looking forward to full operation.
