New Quantus

The owners of Quantus have long relations to the designers at Salt, and the new trawler will be the fourth fishing vessel designed for Quantus. All four have been commissioned at Norwegian yards, and this will be the first at Westcon.

The owner’s main focus during the design process has been to develop an efficient, modern pelagic trawler with low emissions, a safe work platform, and high fish quality to enable the skippers Ian, Mark and Stuart Buchan and their crew to catch their quota as efficiently and safely as possible.

For the Norwegian yard industry, it is encouraging to see another pelagic vessel contracted in Norway.

With the new Quantus ordered there are now two Salt-designed pelagic fishing vessels under construction at Westcon, with Norwegian vessel Trønderbas ordered last year.
