Ølensvåg, 15. April 2021: Gulating Court of Appeal has today given a verdict in the appeal between Westcon and ProSafe. The case deals with the dispute between Prosafe and Westcon in regard to the final settlement of the remodeling of Safe Scandinavia from housing rig to support-vessel for drilling operations. Westcon has been given right in their remuneration claim regarding work completed, and Prosafe has been sentenced to pay approximately 420 million Norwegian Krone including interest rates. Adding the legal costs for the court of appeal and district court, the total amount is 45 million NOK. Westcon has been acquitted in Prosafe’s appeal.

- Our team has worked very hard to illuminate the case thoroughly for the appeals court, and we are satisfied that our thorough presentation has resulted in an unanimous decision to acquit Westcon. It proves that appealing the district court’s decision was the right move. We will now go through the court’s decision and wait with further comments until we have studied it more closely, says Øystein Matre, CEO of Westcon Yards.

The appeal negotiations were conducted over three months during the fall of 2020.
